DSmithImages Photography – Oregon Coast Wedding Photographer

My name is David A. Smith. Birmingham, Alabama is home, but I don’t let that limit my approach or range when it comes to photography. After making the decision to leave an unfulfilling office job in 2010, I decided to devote my full attention to photography and DSmithImages. In those 12 years, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing weddings and portraits in 23 states, and I’m always looking to add a new star to the list. What I really love about doing wedding photography is that it brings me to beautiful locations that I might not have been able to visit. The Oregon Coast and Pacific Northwest region are locations I’ve absolutely fallen in love with during my travels, and I try to get back there as much as possible.

Ecola Point, looking out towards Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock, is one of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever seen. As a big fan of The Goonies, it’s been wonderful getting to visit and photograph those locations.

When it comes to my photography style, I like to provide my couples with cinematic-style photography that documents their full wedding day. Even though I’m only providing still photography, I want my photos to look like movie stills while also capturing the mood, feel, and atmosphere of not only the location but the couple who are celebrating their big day. I made the switch from Canon products to Fujifilm in the summer of 2021, and it’s a decision I should have made much sooner.

I’m always up for an adventure to an exciting location, and I love hopping on an airplane to get there. When I’m not in the air or on the road working with couples all over the United States, I enjoy playing competitive trivia with friends, watching movies, and photographing concerts along with unique and interesting landmarks and buildings.
